The special issue aims to illuminate the intriguing interaction of gut microbiota and brain function. The gut-brain axis has gained significant attention in recent years, highlighting the bidirectional communication between the gut microbiome and brain health.

We welcome contributions covering, but not limited to:

  • Gut microbiota composition and its effects on brain development and function.
  • Neuroinflammation and its modulation by gut microbial factors.
  • Microbiome-gut-brain signaling pathways and their impact on mental health.
  • Role of gut dysbiosis in neurological disorders such as Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, and mood disorders.
